Moomoo and Pogo Puppy love in the fast lane |

Deer Pogo,
I would have replied sooner but I just returned from a trip to Chicowgo where I visited a school friend of mine, Lulu Moodonna. Although Lulu et moi seldom moove in the same social circle, I love visiting her because she knows so many folks I never would meat on my own. Lulu's dream always had been to make the centerfold of that magazine for macho bulls... the Playcow magazine. Poor thing, she never made it yet but she did manage to get a job at the Chicowgo Playcow Mansion and she took me there one night, last week. Well Pogo, you should have been there!
The moosical theme that night was Moosing Along the Champs-Elysés... To give you an idea of the nice moosic the band played , click on the little picture below and you'll hear the cutest little French song called La Boheme! Ah.. so very moovingly beautiful! I can't stop humming that song... La Boheme .... La Boheme .... I see myself back in the days of Jean Valjean humming... La Boheme .... and being so mooserable doing so....

And direct from Radio Moosic Hall, the Leg-Kikking Bullettes gave a show I am not about to forget. Should have seen them kicking them hind legs in perfect beat with the "Can Can" moosic. You'd have thought you were at the Moolin Rouge in Paris! Some of the biggest names in shoo business were there too. The Twisted Ribs was the featured band that night. Their drummer, Chopstik Beefeeter played a solo (drums, of course) of "The Bullfighter"... I was moved to the bones! I actually saw Pinky Moosetail cry! Pinky was a friend of ours from St. Moothew. He had insisted to accompany us because, as he'd said, "you need protection in a place like this".
The Hip Bullbiceps played 'smooth, oochie-oochie' moosic during the intermission. There wasn't a dry eye in the place when they played 'La Foule', another romantic tune you can only find in Paris..

The evening closed with "Tender is the Rib" played by "The Happy Acowpuncturists Ensemble" and Patsy Bone, all decked out in black, crooned it! Wow! I mean, them bulls sure know how to throw a party.
The 'cloo' de la soirée was without a doubt when Hoogo Hoofner, the owner of the place made his appearance, surrounded by a troopeau of the most gorgeous four-legged creatures ever assembled in one place.... And you know what? I actually got to shake paws with the man! I swear... I'll never wash them again.. ever! What a moomentary moomentous mooment that was.
How I wish you'd been here! But I doubt your mommy, just like mine, would have approved of your being seen at that party. But you know Pogo, it wasn't what I'd always thought it would be. Sure, the place was packed with oogling macho bulls but roving eyes never hurt anyone, I say. And all the macho bulls I talked to insisted they only subscribed to that Playcow magazine because it always featured good interviews and their ads were great.

But what I liked best at that party was the food! yeah, the food. There wasn't a piece of meat anywhere! Just veggies and the odd fish here and there. And the best news of all.... I think Lulu will make that centerfold yet! I overheard one of the bulls in the crowd ask for her phone number! He said he was a Playcow official photographer! Talk about luck!
Mooingly yours,
Moomoo

. Cyberdate: 14 November 1997
Eight inches of snow fell on Upper State New York on this date. Sammie (remember the cute Schnauzeranian little dog?) just had to share the event with his new found friend Pogo and sent him the following cyber postcard. Pogo... your fan club is growing...
|
Would you like to play with me? I hope you like my picture taken just this morning.
It snowed all day, and right now, we have about 8 inches on the ground. I think you would like playing with me because I love to dip my nose in the snow and generally romp around. I also love to catch snowballs in my mouth. Hope you like the music I sent you too. I picked it out all by myself. Yeah! It's called "Gentle on My Mind" and it's uh . . . "udderly" fantastic!

3 cheers for Pogo.My master read me your story and I understand you,"I think". I am a collie and have loved my kitten (literally!) Aggie since the day my master brought her home. But I worry that being of different animal kingdoms brings troubles we couldn't have anticipated as this is our first relationship.
We get along great which in itself has brought many strange looks. But our love for each other is strong and will hold us together despite the opnions of the "They" commitee. So stay strong in your persuits.
A fan of yours,
Maggie

Dear Maggie,
Thank you so much for your great show of support. Yours is the first one to come in since Annabeau uploaded that message he sent around the world (so he told me).
You sound like one happy puppy Maggie. I have a sense of having met you before.... I'll bet you probably live in the wide open spaces.... somewhere on some ranch where Collies can really let go their inhibitions and roam the range... Eh! There I go again.
I see you have one of them personality mixup too. I can understand you what with me ready to give my kingdom for a cow. I appreciate the fact you didn't make any snarly remarks about my 'situation'.
Your Aggie is quite lucky to have you as a pet. Betch you if I was a wee tiny little kitten, I'd sure like to have a big, big Collie to protect me... you meet the wildest species in them big open spaces.
Don't worry about the 'looks' homo sapiens give you. What do they know, eh!
Thanks for the good wishes. Now, i only hope this Annabeau friend of mine will choose your nice letter to put on his special page. The entire big wild world deserves to know about you.
Your new found friend,
Pogo
PS: I'll pass on your nice letter to Moomoo... she'll probably cry her heart out when she reads it!
Oh, and Maggie.... any chance to see a picture of your great self? I always had a weak spots for Collies.... Just wondering...
