Time for a break in the cruise. Listed on this page are photographs of the past, mainly for my benefit, and photographs taken from articles to come, mainly for your benefit.

Shuttle Columbia fly-past over RCAF Stn (CFB) Bagotville - circa 1982-84

One of my best memories from my 'working days' was this fly-past made by Nasa's Shuttle Columbia over our base in 1982/1984. The shuttle and its 'mother' ship had taken part in the Paris International Air Show and, following our request, Nasa had agreed to make a 'slight' detour on their way to homebase. At the appointed time, the Shuttle appeared over our base, escorted by two of our Voodoos fighter aircraft. That day, Nasa made my day!

    Y-Kot's successor... Auriga

Our return visit to Desolation Sound (to appear shortly) was made onboard Auriga, a Tanzer 26.

One good reason why we retired on the West Coast!
Freebird Express snowed under in Bagotville, Quebec. Winter '83.

Les Iles de Sorel (Sorel Islands)

The photo above was taken during our cruise of Summer 77. This photo helped me make the decision to 'retire early'. Following our cruise of Summer '87 (see 'Coming Features') it was prominently displayed in my 'work' office and each day I would look at it and ask myself "Is it all worth it?" or else.... "This is what it's all about!". It was 'no contest'

Arriving in Vienna. Early morning shot.

The Pheasant Inn Pub in Middle Wallop, England. Circa 1942

Photo which will appear in the special feature entitled "406 Squadron - The Great Reunion of 1981" While serving at 406 Sqn, Shearwater I had the great pleasure to help in organizing this touching reunion of ex-personnel who had served with the Squadron during WW II. It is hard to believe but the photo above actually represents a popular Inn of the time, the Pheasant Inn which was totally re-created in an aircraft hangar! Ah memories!

Please Note: The remainder of this feature will be uploaded soon. In the meantime, if you like travels, won't you join me in a trip to Paris?

Many come and visit but very few take the time to sign the Guestbook. Would love to hear from YOU. Would you like to be 'the' exception? Many come and visit but very few take the time to sign the Guestbook. Would love to hear from YOU. Would you like to be 'the' exception?
